Orvieto is one of Umbria\u2019s most visited towns thanks to its strategic location<\/strong> between Rome and Florence and its extraordinary historical and artistic heritage. Planning your stay carefully allows you to make the most of everything this destination has to offer throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Getting to Orvieto is easy both by car and by train. The railway station is located at the foot of the cliff and is connected to the historic centre by a convenient funicular, allowing visitors to reach the heart of the town quickly. Those travelling by car can use the car parks located close to the main access points to the historic centre.<\/p>\n

The best time to visit<\/strong> Orvieto is from April to October, when temperatures are pleasant and the events calendar is particularly rich. Spring brings spectacular colours thanks to the flowering season and the many events held in the town\u2019s squares. Among the most eagerly awaited events in 2026 are Orvieto in Fiore, scheduled from 21 to 24 May, the traditional Festa della Palombella and the Corpus Domini celebrations, culminating in the famous Historical Procession on 7 June.<\/p>\n

To visit the main attractions, it is advisable to spend at least two days in the town<\/strong>. This gives you enough time to discover the Cathedral, St Patrick\u2019s Well, Orvieto Underground and the many museums without rushing.
